Dannie-Lu Carr is a creative polymath; a singer-songwriter, a poet, an actor, an award-winning theatre director, and a published writer. In addition she is an executive coach in leadership, creativity and strategy (ILM L7) and founder of Flaming Leadership.
Her debut album is a punk vaudeville escapade of narrative music set in a dystopian future around a canal in London’s Hackney.
We follow the tales of the protagonist, an algae covered mermaid musing over identity, climate change and what it means to be an artist in a world filled with sirens, oxygen masks and an encroaching tryanny.
Despite the topic, the album is uplifting and witty as well as disturbingly zeitgeist in its scope. Chunky Bitty Mermaid, produced by Sarah Gillespie, is OUT NOW
